Research Software EVERSE event
27 Feb 2026

As research software becomes an indispensable part of the scientific process — powering data analysis, simulations, and digital research workflows — there is a growing need for communities to share best practices, address quality challenges, and ensure that software contributions are recognised as essential elements of research excellence. This event aims to foster cross-continental dialogue on these topics and strengthen collaborations between practitioners, researchers, and software engineers.

The programme will feature a keynote presentation, short talks from African researchers, and a detailed overview of the EVERSE project’s tools, indicators, and frameworks designed to support research software quality and recognition. Sessions will include breakout discussions on good practices and quality indicators, as well as opportunities for participants to engage directly with peers from Europe and Africa.

By co-hosting the event, UCT eResearch is providing a platform for dialogue on research software quality across African and European contexts. Participants and interested community members are encouraged to register and join this dynamic conversation about elevating research software’s role within the broader research landscape.
